OFFICIATING UPDATE

17th November

Congratulations to Amber Buchan and Robert Hamilton from Middlesex and Lara Venter from Hamsphire who have recently been successful in gaining the Netball Europe A Umpire Award.  Well done!

Sports Officials UK is a group of representatives from a number of National Governing Bodies (England Netball is part of this group.)  We are working with them to address some of the common problems and recruitment issues encounterd by us all and to share examples of good practice in relation to the training and development of umpires, referees, stewards and judges etc.

Umpire Match Protocols: In light of the new rules these have been amended and may be found on the 'Useful Information' section.

England Netball is looking for volunteer members to sit on the Netball Europe Umpire Awards group.  Applications are being sought from umpires who hold the minimum qualifications of A Award umpire + B Award Tester.  For further information and to download the application form please go to 'Application Forms' on this site.  Closing date for applications will be 30 November 2008

In September 2009 England Netball (Officiating) will be holding the annual training weekend for Umpire Tutors (B and above) and alos the national B - A course (for B award umpires wishing to progress to the Netball Europe A Award)

Please note there is a change of date to the original date for this weekend training course.  The Tutors weekend will definitely be held on 12th/13th September 2009 with arrival on Friday evening 11th September 2009.  Further details regarding the date for the B - A course will be circulated as soon as it has been confirmed.
