Attached is the approved role profile for the Sport Competition Managers, as advertised on the Glasgow 2014 website.  The Sport Competition Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, managing and conducting the Sport competition and related services, as it pertains to the designated sport, at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. 

These roles are absolutely integral to the success of the Games, and the recruitment of these positions represents a key milestone in the delivery of an outstanding athlete centred and sport focused Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The closing date for applications is Monday 5th March 2012 and interviews will be held during March and April.

Job Description    

These are exciting times for Jersey Netball Association as they work with and support England Netball to achieve an exciting but ambitious vision for the future – we aspire to be a top 10 participation sport; the first choice team sport for women and girls and number 1 in the world.  With a growing membership and regular television coverage Jersey Netball Association are seeking to appoint in partnership with England Netball  a Netball Development Officer who is a high achiever and has the will to succeed in helping us take the next step to being a world leading Governing Body of Sport.

Reporting to Jersey Netball Association you will be responsible for:

• Work closely with the Netball membership and partners in Jersey to develop and deliver the plan for Netball, within the context of the local development plan;

• Developing Back to Netball (B2N) and Mixed Netball activities increasing adult participation;

• Developing Netball for Children and Young People;

• Identifying development opportunities for Coaches, Officials and other Volunteers and organising/signposting to suitable provision as appropriate;

• Working in partnership with the County Chair and County Netball Associations to deliver and monitor the County plans.
