The battle for supremacy in the FIAT Netball Superleague starts up again on Thursday 16 January with a repeat of the 2011 Grand Final as Hertfordshire Mavericks welcome Surrey Storm to Hatfield. The summer has witnessed plenty of activity for Superleague fans, with several England players making the trip Down Under to compete in the ANZ and some fascinating changes to head coaches amongst the franchises. England Netball casts its eye over the runners and riders for the coming season and suggests who may competing for the honours come the Superleague Showdown weekend and who will be looking to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.
In a change from last year, just eight franchises will be participating and, after seven rounds, those eight are split into two tiers, the top four in Tier1 and the bottom four in Tier 2, with each side playing their three rivals home and away. An eliminator will then pit bottom of Tier 1 against top of Tier 2 to decide the semi-finalists as all roads lead to the Superleague Showdown weekend on 19 and 20 May!
