Regional Excel Coaches
Regional Excel Coach Team
England Netball has a team of coaches (to coach and mentor both coaches and athletes within the regional excel pathway. They will work with a range of partners (including Regional Excel Technical Support Groups, Premier League and NTL clubs, Superleagues and FE/HE institutions) to achieve the common outcome of 'enhanced' opportunities for talented coaches and athletes across the country. Enhanced being defined as: higher quality coaching; higher quality programmes; more accessible opportunities; clearer guidance and support for athletes; stronger links to key partners.
The Regional Excel Coaches are:
Joan Young Region: Yorkshire
Joan started her coaching career as West Yorkshire county coach and progressed to Yorkshire and Humberside regional squad coach. Throughout her career Joan has led a series of England Netball Talent Camps, has been lead coach for Leeds Met Carnegie and assistant coach for Loughborough Lightning.

Karen Greig Region: North West
As a player Karen has progressed through the England excel programme to the national squad. Karen has represented England at the FENA Championships, World Youth Championships, Test Series and World Championships. She also played for Northern Thunder and more recently for Leeds Met Carnegie. Karen started her coaching career with her local club and has coached in colleges, schools and the Tameside talent programme.

Rosie Port Region: East Midlands
Rosie started her coaching career as Derbyshire county coach and progressed to East Midlands regional coach. Throughout her career Rosie has led a series of England Netball Talent Camps and has gained international experience as Scotland U17 national coach. More recently Rosie has been lead coach for Loughborough Lightning.

Jo Webb Region: East (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk)
As a player Jo has represented England at the FENA Championships and was a member of the England Development squad. Throughout her coaching career she has been assistant then lead coach to the Talent 1 group (England U17 squad) and recently stepped down from the Talent 2 lead coach position after taking the England U19 squad to Glasgow where they won the Netball Europe U21 Championships. Jo is currently lead coach for Mavericks Youth.

Danielle Titmuss Region: East (Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk)
Danielle started her coaching career at the age of 14 with Turnford Netball club. From here Danielle progressed to coaching the Hertfordshire Academies and was Assistant Coach of the Brunel Hurricanes NTL squad. More recently she was the Head Coach of Essex Met Academy and assisted at the London and South East Regional Academy.

Jo Binns Region: South West
As a player Jo has progressed through the England Talent programme and is still playing in the national squad. Jo has represented England at the FENA Championships, World Youth Championships, Fiji and Malawi Test Series and World Championships. She is currently playing for TeamBath. As a coach Jo has led the netball programme at Monkton Combe school and TeamBath Tribe coaching sessions.

Emma Blackmore Region: London and South East
Emma attended the University of Bath and completed a BA in Coach Education and Sports Development, and an MA in Education & Sports Coaching. She is currently a level 2 coach and has coached at Uppingham School, the Royal High School as well as the University of Bath 4th team. She has just completed a season coaching TeamBath Tigers U16 regional and County Squads as well as being head coach at Timsbury Netball Club, and Apprentice Coach with TeamBath's NTL squad.

Kelly Hedley Region: North East
Kelly has joined the England Netball team from New Zealand. She has spent her whole career working in sport development in many roles. Kelly studied for a Bachelors degree in Sport Coaching at the Christchurch College of Education and is a current Netball New Zealand Regional Umpire and Level 3A coach. Kelly has coached netball since she was in high school at Senior A and representative level and continues to actively participate in the sport at a high level.

Lesley Blair Region: West Midlands
Lesley started coaching Junior Club netball before moving onto County squads. She has been involved in the West Midlands Talent programme for around 6 years both as an administrator/coordinator and more recently as Head Coach of the Regional Talent Development Squad and Assistant Coach to the NTL Squad. During this time she also worked for the last 6 years in the Warwickshire area on the Satellite and County Academy programme.
In the past Lesley played for her region as well as in the National League and continues to play regional and local league netball for Henley Netball Club.

Kathryn Ratnapala Region: South
Kathryn has been involved with England Netball for a number of years, both as a player and a coach. Kathryn has previously worked with the South & West High Performance Centre, South NTL and at County and Regional levels. She was a member of the Team Bath Superleague team for 3 years, in doing so Kathryn became one of the founder athletes of the Team Bath Netball Programme. Kathryn was also a member of the England Development squad and was Captain of the side for two consecutive years, which included tours to Australia and South Africa.
