Equality in Netball

England Netball is committed to making netball fair, equitable and accessible.

Paul Clark, England Netball's Chief Executive has overall responsibility in ensuring that a policy of equality is implemented across our sport.  "An Equality & Diversity Policy is critical to Netball in order to ensure our sport is open to all those who want to take part. We are committed to developing our products and services and working with our members, our prospective members and our partners to make Netball a sport that is safe, enjoyable and accessible to everyone".

England Netball has developed an Equality and Diversity Policy which is compliant with the Equality Act 2010 and has been approved by the Board of Directors in July 2011.

The intent of the policy is as follows:

England Netball is fully committed to the principles of equality of opportunity and is responsible for ensuring that no job applicant, employee, volunteer or member receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.

England Netball will ensure that there will be open access to all those who wish to participate in all aspects of Netball activities and that they are treated fairly.

In addition, England Netball recognises that we live in a diverse society and will endeavour to ensure that all participants are given the same opportunities regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds.
