National Testers Re-accreditation Course, September 2011

Following the decision made by Netball Europe at their AGM and Council meeting earlier this month to delay the implementation of the new structure for the Netball Europe Umpiring Awards, it has been necessary to cancel the Testers Re-accreditation Course planned for the 9th/11th September 2011 in Nottingham.

It has been agreed to extend Umpire Testers accreditation that expires in December 2011 for a further 12 months and this will enable Testers to continue with their work. A timetable for the implementation of the new Netball Europe Award Structure is currently being discussed, and as soon as dates have been set a revised date for the Testers Accreditation will be circulated.

Courses and Awards

England Netball via their regions and Counties run the following Course/Workshops together with Umpiring Awards:

• Youth Award Orientation Workshop for teachers (this leads into the teacher being able to deliver the Youth Umpire Award to their pupils via the school curriculum)

Please note the following:

• Beginner Umpire Courses: England Netball affiliated and non affiliated personnel may attend these courses. However non affiliated personnel will not be covered by insurance.

• C' Award Courses: If the C award course is the first course delivered within a County then again non affiliated personnel will not be covered by insurance

• B' Award Courses: Only England Netball affiliated members may access this course and should hold a current C Award umpiring qualification

The following course has been developed to try and ensure that all matches from grassroots through to the top level eventually all have Timekeepers and Scorers - so that the Umpires do not have to keep a scorecard.

National Training courses

National Training courses are administered directly through England Netball for A Award umpires and Testers and Tutors.

Testing for Officials

Anyone undertaking a test must hold a current England Netball affiliation. The qualification also only remains avalid when a current affiliation is held.
