Club Safeguarding Resources

Club Safeguarding Officers are vital for the welfare of all young players in our netball clubs.

Safeguarding Best Practice Document - Physical contact and young people in netball

We at England Netball wish to support all Club Safeguarding Officers through the development of resources and training to ensure young people enjoy their netball in a safe environment.  We aim to provide the tools for CSOs to be able to fulfil their role competently and effectively.

FREE Time to Listen training for Club Safeguarding Officers is now available, please contact your England Netball Regions.

Please also see the links to the left which will help anyone involved in safeguarding at a club or association level.

Be Safe Cards for young netballers.

England Netball has recently produced some Be Safe cards that have been distributed to all our junior members through the EN magazine.  The credit cards sized cards are a useful source of information for any young person who may have a concern either themselves or about a friend.

With the message: netball is fun, you should enjoy it and feel safe there are phone numbers and email addresses for England Netball personnel as well as 24 hour helplines for the NSPCC and Childline.  The cards were put together with input from the Youth Advisory Group and are available with a supporting letter for every young person.

We have some cards available at head office, if you would like some to distribute (free of charge) to your club and / or hand out at an event then please contact Ayesha Malik on Ayesham@englandnetball.co.uk

Be Safe Poster for England Netball Clubs

Show your commitment to safeguarding in your club

Be Safe poster

We are pleased to be able to be able to offer all our netball clubs a free downloadable resource to personalise, print and display. The Be Safe poster has been designed with space for you to add your Club Safeguarding Officers name and contact details. There is also a space for you to upload a head and shoulders picture of your CSO so they are easily identifiable in your club.

This poster has been agreed and endorsed by our Youth Advisory Group and sits with the BE Safe cards already in use by many of our junior members.

Please use this poster to promote the fact that you are aware of the needs of your young players and you have identified someone with responsibility for safeguarding in your club.
