Volunteers

England Netball relies on volunteers to help us in all areas, and they make a huge contribution to the game of netball. Volunteering is a rewarding experience, not only benefiting the club or organisation, but also the individual - developing skills for use at college, university or in the workplace. It's a fantastic way to make new friends, and nothing beats the "feel-good factor" of helping out and giving something to your sport.

For information about volunteer recognition, programmes and opportunities for young volunteers please contact Rebecca Skinner at rebeccas@englandnetball.co.uk or on 07834 500190.

Train to support your disabled members or welcome new disabled members - for free!!

The Advocacy & Activity Buddy Scheme (AABS) is a project run by the English Federation of Disability Sport to increase participation of disabled people in sport. The project has developed resources to support clubs to become more inclusive, and training to ensure your volunteers have the confidence to support your disabled members effectively.

The resources are available online from the EFDS website, click here to access the AABS Resources.

The 'toolkit' consists of 6 different sections and includes admin templates such as application forms and assistance questionnaires and volunteer training resources in paper and powerpoint formats.

The volunteer training is also available online. This 'E-learning' tool has been developed to be accessible by all volunteers to increase their disability awareness. It is also time saving for clubs. It is assumed that this training can be done at home by the volunteer, and then followed up by the clubs' general induction and Health & Safety discussions.
