Vision for Volunteering and Headline Objectives 2009-2013

Vision for Volunteering;

  • To have a trained, supported and sustainable volunteer workforce
  • To ensure the successful delivery of England Netball's 10-1-1 vision

Headline Objectives;

A clear pathway in place which engages, develops and enthuses all young leaders;

  • Youth Advisory Group - ensuring that young people have a voice and can actively participate in the development and delivery of youth programmes
  • Young Volunteers Programme. A programme which provide clear pathways, recognition and opportunities. The Young Volunteers Programme will link heavily with the Step into Sport model and will encompass all forms of volunteering to ensure one clear message for young leaders and delivers.
  • Young Leaders Camp - bespoke courses and training for our talented young leaders
  • Coaching Scholarships - providing mentoring and training opportunities for our talented young coaches
  • Link with School, Club, Coaching and Officiating Strategies

All volunteers, from grassroots through to elite are supported and resourced to undertake their role;

  • Appropriate training available to all volunteers
  • Volunteers are provided with the tools to create high quality netball environments at all levels
  • Appropriate mentoring and buddy systems in place
  • Increased funding accessed by netball volunteer involving organisations
  • Make links with NAVCA (the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) to utilise their expertise and knowledge
  • Link with Club Strategy

Volunteer Management systems are in place across the organisation to ensure a high quality volunteer experience

  • Develop a network of Club Volunteer Coordinators within clubs
  • Work towards the Investing in Volunteers Standard and filter the good practice throughout the organisation
  • Work closely with Third Sector organisations including Volunteering England to utilise their expertise and knowledge
  • Ensure efficient succession plans are in place

A clear pathway in place which engages, develops and enthuses adult volunteers;

  • Link with Club, Coaching and Officiating Strategies
  • Develop strong links with Volunteer Centres
  • Work closely with the Club Volunteer Coordinator network

All Volunteers feel valued for their contribution

  • A clear and accessible volunteer recognition programme which rewards volunteers from grassroots through to elite (Regional and National Goalden Globe Awards, Superleague Awards, The BIG Netball Thank You)
