Youth Advisory Group Seek New Member!

The England Netball Youth Advisory Group is in need of a new member to become an integral part of advocating the views of young people so that we can be heard!

The Youth Advisory Group has been established for three years achieving many exciting things for the young people of netball. We have been at the forefront of developing the youth section on the EN website, the youth section in the Netball magazine, the Be Safe card, and more recently we’ve developed Passion on your Passion (the rewards and recognition scheme for young netball volunteers and leaders), Youth Advisors (to help England Netball gain as many young peoples’ opinions as possible) (go to www.englandnetball.co.uk/youthzone to sign up), and much, much more.

BUT we need you to take us even further and be involved in EVERYTHING that involves young people within England Netball!

Future projects involve expanding the website and magazine as well as working on the new My Game approach you will have seen in Netball and on the website and important safeguarding issues and developments. We want to ensure whether you are a player, spectator, coach, official, leader or volunteer your opinions are heard and you could help to do this!

Becoming a member of the youth advisory group will give you the opportunity to have loads of fun, meet new friends and make a difference.

The Youth Advisory Group is voluntary and is made up of 13 young people aged 16-24 yrs and as one young person leaves a new one is recruited! England Netball’s Children and Young People Manager, also sits on the Group (not literally!) to link us directly with England Netball, providing us with full support to achieve ours aims. We meet face-to-face three/four times a year for weekend meetings with email communication in between and possible attendance at other England Netball events.

You must be available for the weekend of 19th/20th May 2012, where you will meet the other members of the Youth Advisory Group and attend your first meeting which are always action-packed and fun!

The criteria to become a member of the Youth Advisory Group are:

  • Must currently be involved with netball as a player, spectator, coach, official, administrator, leader or volunteer

  • Must be free for our next meeting on Sat 19th and Sun 20th May 2012
