There are nine Regional Units in England covering the seperate regions across the country. Each unit has a full- time Regional Manager and a Regional Support Staff. Working alongside their elected County and Regional Management Boards (RMBs), the Units develop and facilitate the delivery of all aspects of netball within their region.
Although Regions have differing priorities, there are several areas in which all Regions are involved:-
Do you need to do more exercise? Do you want to know more? England Netball is identifying the needs of people who play any sport and netball in particular.
Knowledge, support and advice on all aspects of club development including how to develop new clubs, potential funding, recruiting members, volunteers and workforce development
Club Action Planning Scheme (CAPS)
England Netball's measure of a quality club. Regional Units promote this scheme and assist clubs in compiling evidence in order to submit an application.
CAPS helps netball clubs to function in the most efficient way and, once completed, provides proof that the club offers a quality environment for all members. It is directly linked to Sport England's Clubmark programme, which provides a national standard for good practice in the development of players, coaches and umpires at all levels. In line with the Clubmark award, CAPS focuses on four key areas that impact Netball clubs:
England Netball School Club Links Programme
Regional units work in partnership with partnership development Managers, school Sports Co-ordinators, Competition Managers and clubs, to support the National PE, School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) strategy.
Working together to strategically identify and prioritise potential facilities that may benefit from refurbishment.
Regional staff and volunteers promote and communicate information about all sorts of activities and initiative within and beyond the Region to members and partners, including supporting the development of Regional websites and newsletters.
Working with RMB and County Associations to set-up the new competition systems and leagues to feed into the new Regional and National competition structure
Running umpiring and other courses, and assisting with continued professional development.
Regions fund various activities, aimed at identifying and securing funding and sponsorship programmes
Ensuring that Long-Term Athlete development (LTAD) is promoted across the Regions, and pathways are accessible to all.
