The England Netball First Performance Pathway is for athletes aged 11 upwards and starts with the Satellite Academy. This is delivered by the County Netball Association (CNA) and sessions will normally be fortnightly. The next step is the County Academy, also delivered by the CNA, with sessions taking place weekly.
Athletes are selected into the Academies through screening events organised by the County Association, but there are also opportunities throughout the year for athletes to be seen and selected.
The Academy programme provides individualised coaching for girls who show the potential, attitude and attributes to progress up through the England Performance Pathway and teaches them the fundamentals required to be a world class athlete.
There is no formal competition within the Performance Pathway; this must be accessed through Schools and Clubs, but the athletes receive high quality training directed by England Coaches and Sport Science and Medicine Specialists.
Performance Pathway training is challenging and demanding and the athletes will be given work to do outside of their Academy that they will need to complete, please support this where possible.
