Alice Harvey

Bio

Alice Harvey’s netball journey began when she started playing in primary school in Year 6.

Buoyed by the enjoyment and friendships she made, she continued to play through secondary school before progressing to club level.

Rising through the ranks, Harvey joined the England youth set-up in 2016 and tasted success for the first time in the form of the Europe Netball Championships at U17 level in 2017.

2019 was a key year in her development, where she toured Australia with the U19 Roses side before being named in the U21 Netball World Youth Cup long squad and she also featured in the U21 side that claimed gold at the Europe Netball Championship.

A figure of success from Lightning’s Academy having competed in their U19 and U21 sides, she secured her first Netball Super League (NSL) contract in the 2020 season and helped the team to their historic maiden title in 2021. She was then also part of the 2023 NSL title-winning Lightning side.

“I think one of the people who has had an impact on my journey so far is Sara Bayman as my first Lightning coach. She offered me my first contract and she coached the defensive end that first year – her along with Sam May – and they were so influential in the amount of learning that I took”

After being selected into the Vitality Roses programme for the first time for 2022-23, she won her first Vitality Roses senior cap at the October 2022 Vitality International Netball Series vs. Uganda.
