Bio

Alicia Scholes first picked up a netball at the age of eight.

Daughter of former England and Manchester United footballer Paul Scholes, Alicia hails from a competitive sporting family but was drawn to netball at a young age.

Whilst playing netball at Oldham Hulme Grammar School, the midcourter joined Oldham Netball Club where she rose through the age groups before then moving on to YWCA Bury at the age of 15 and playing in their Premier League squad.

Scholes has competed in various international competitions, including an U17 tour in Australia and the Netball Europe U21 Championships in Northern Ireland in 2019 alongside Vitality Roses Berri Neil and Funmi Fadoju.

After joining the Manchester Thunder pathway, Scholes received a call-up to their Netball Super League squad for the 2021 season before going on to make her debut in March.

Scholes moved down south to London Pulse in 2021 and played a key role in helping Pulse secure a historic spot in the Netball Super League Grand Final in 2023 and winning the Netball Super Cup at the start of 2025.

After being selected for the Future Roses for the first time in 2022-23, Scholes was then handed the opportunity to represent England at the FAST5 Netball World Series in New Zealand.

On 24 September 2023, Scholes came on for her senior debut for the Vitality Roses against the New Zealand Silver Ferns in the Taini Jamison Trophy.
