Bio

Beth Cobden has established herself as a specialist wing defence on the international stage since her Vitality Roses debut in 2016 against Australia.

The mid-courter soon became a regular fixture in Vitality Roses squads and started all seven games in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, helping the Vitality Roses win their first gold medal.

Her domestic career has mirrored her international success, playing in both England and Australia.

In the Netball Super League (NSL), she helped steer Loughborough Lightning to consecutive Grand Finals in 2017 and 2018 respectively. She was also named in the All Star VII for both of those years and lifted the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship.

She had a tremendously successful 2021-22 NSL season with Lightning, winning Player of the Season, Player of the Match in the Grand Final and the league title.

There have been plenty of times when Cobden could have walked away from netball. She has suffered three ACL injuries during her career and a calf injury ruled her out of England’s Commonwealth Games squad in 2022 but that didn’t stop her from working hard to get back on court.

She has gone on to also win the NSL title in 2023 and 2024 whilst at Loughborough, being pivotal in last season’s success.

On the international front, she returned to the Vitality Roses programme for the 2024-25 season after a year away and helped Jess Thirlby’s side make history as they won a test series in New Zealand within the first two games for the first time.
