Ellie Rattu

Bio

Ellie Rattu started playing netball around the age of 9 and credits her mum Lisa – “the real coach” – for supporting and empowering her on her journey.

Rattu has worked her way through the England youth setup, being selected for U17, U19 and U21 squads, tasting success at Europe Netball U17 and being vice-captain of an U19 touring team to Australia and New Zealand.

She was then called up to represent England A for the first time in 2021 during the Vitality Roses Reunited Series.

“It's not just on court, it's everything that builds up around that. So it's how you prepare, your sleep, your mindset and everything else. So I think it's learning those sorts of things off the court and how they will then translate on court as well.”

Determined to make her mark on the game by remaining authentic to her style of play, she won her first Vitality Roses senior cap against Uganda in the October 2022 Vitality Netball International Series.

Described as “a natural talent and a really mature head in attack”, Rattu made her Netball Super League debut for London Pulse in 2021. After enjoying several seasons with the club, including being a key part of the side that finished as runners-up to Loughborough Lightning in 2023, she returned home to London Mavericks ahead of the 2024 campaign.
