Keen on sport from an early age, Kira Rothwell initially focused on athletics before finding her calling in netball.
After making her Netball Super League debut in 2019 for London Pulse, Rothwell moved to London Mavericks ahead of the 2022 season and has been there ever since.
A standout 2023 saw the goal attack and goal shooter clinch the Fans’ Player of the Season award before shooting an 88% average in 2024 to solidify her position in the attacking line-up.
She has previously represented England U21 and England A, gaining invaluable experience through an Australia and New Zealand tour, whilst also winning the Europe Netball Championship in 2019.
Having embarked on a graduate medical degree last September, Rothwell does not need to look too far for inspiration from other netballers who also enjoy impressive careers as doctors.
The 24-year-old has spoken to Layla Guscoth for advice and believes balancing the two areas of her life has brought the best out of her on court.
