Olivia Tchine

Bio

Olivia Tchine originally began playing netball at James Dixon Primary School just for fun. It was only when her first netball club – Sabina NC – saw her potential at goal shooter that her netball journey really took off. 

Having risen through the London Pulse pathway, she earned her first international honour as part of England’s winning U17 side at the 2017 Europe Netball Championships before securing a further Europe Netball victory the following year for the England U21 team. 

My role model is my mum and that’s always been the case. Life hasn’t been the best, but my mum has always shown positivity even in negative times. She’s always been strong, and she always shows me and my siblings that no matter what you go through, no matter how dark it can be, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. That’s one thing that I love about her. That’s why I see her as my role model. 

In October 2022, Tchine made her Vitality Roses debut in the Vitality Netball International Series opener against Uganda then shot at a remarkable 100% in the second game. 

With a huge standing jump and footwork as her major strengths, she displayed maturity beyond her years as she helped the Vitality Roses secure a series win against Jamaica in January 2023 before facing the world’s best in the Netball Quad Series. 

In the summer of 2023, she featured in six of the Vitality Roses' games at the Netball World Cup in South Africa as the team secured a historic silver medal.

Tchine hopes to make her mark on players of the future by empowering them to push themselves to be their best.
