How did you get into going to Back to Netball? How does it fit into your life now?

“I got back into netball in August 2024, after moving to the Wirral and my friend invited me to one of the sessions. I was nervous about attending because my fitness wasn’t the best, but now my whole week revolves around the sessions and my fitness is the best it’s been in years.

What does netball mean to you and how do you benefit from attending?

“Netball has become such a huge part of my life now, all thanks to Back to Netball. I hadn’t played since I was in school, and now I try to play 2-3 times a week. My fitness has massively improved, and my mental health feels great after every session. I love being around such positive and supportive women, who are always down to have a laugh and make every session enjoyable and relaxing.

I look forward to seeing the same faces and new people every week. Our coach Lou has built such a positive and supportive environment for women and girls, and it’s incredible to find this when you’ve just moved. I love being surrounded by women from all different age groups and seeing us all keep active and enjoy the love of the sport together!

I now also follow the netball nationally and internationally and love it (I’ve even roped my partner into watching them with me) and loved attending Jamaica vs England in Manchester!

What would you say to encourage others to attend Back to Netball?

“I would say absolutely take the leap and find your nearest back to netball session asap! You can do it at your own pace at any fitness level, and you’ll find yourself surrounding by caring and funny women who you can have a laugh with while working out.

“You’ll find yourself improving week by week and always craving the sessions once they are over. The strangers I originally met have now become good friends and I’m really grateful for the community that back to netball has provided me with.
