Get started as a volunteer

Your steps to joining the Netball Family

Step 1

Consider your motivation for wanting to be involved in netball volunteering - whether it’s leading an area of expertise, supporting your local club/team, county, region or Netball Super League (NSL) club(s), the buzz of an event, being there for your child(ren) or learning more about netball.

Step 2

We know volunteers in netball are driven by their passion for the sport and the desire to feel a sense of achievement. That’s why it’s important to think about what matters most to you as it helps us direct you to the right opportunities. The following categories may help guide your decision:

  • Love To Lead*: You’ve been involved in netball for a while and want to use your experience to shape the future of the sport by leading volunteer teams.

  • Love My Team*: You’re passionate about supporting your local school, college, university, club or NSL club(s).

  • Love My Kids: Your child(ren) are involved in netball and you’d like to be more involved too.

  • Love To Learn*: You’re eager to develop personally and gain experience or benefit from training opportunities in netball.

  • Love My Day: You’d prefer to get involved in one-off events, enjoying the energy and excitement of supporting them.

  • Love To But: You’re interested in volunteering but aren’t sure where to start or if you have enough time.

Step 3

Consider your location, travel preferences and the amount of time you’re able or willing to commit.

Step 4

Explore our volunteering roles to find the right fit for you.

Step 5

Once you know what you’re interested in and what motivates you to get involved, your next steps are simple:

  • Reach out to your regional England Netball office to explore local opportunities.

  • If you’re connected to an NSL club(s), local netball club or league, ask who their volunteer coordinator is and see if they need any help.

  • Interested in event volunteering (Love My Day)? Complete the expression of interest form and we’ll let you know about upcoming events.

  • Contact your local England Netball team or us nationally with a brief description of your motivations and what support you need, and we’ll help direct you to the best opportunities.

Step 6

Enjoy the amazing benefits of supporting netball and help us enrich more lives through the sport!

*To access many of these opportunities, you’ll need to be a member of England Netball, as well as the relevant region and county. If you’re already a player, your membership is covered. If not, you can register as a playing or social & supporting member. Find out more.
