Volunteering roles and how to register your interest

Committees and Leaders

There are large teams off the court who support ongoing activities, from booking facilities to building strategies and developing local netball opportunities. These teams exist at school, college, university, club, league, county, regional and national levels. Areas of expertise needed on these committees range from Finance (Treasurer), Governance, Safeguarding, and Marketing & Communications to Competition, Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering.

Match Days and Events

Volunteers are at the heart of every England Netball event. Whether you’re helping with flag bearing, ball patrol, the event crew, hospitality, ticketing, media support or more, your time and energy make a huge difference. We simply couldn’t bring our exciting events to life without your fantastic support! It’s not just about the national and international events - there are plenty of opportunities across regions, counties and Netball Super League (NSL) clubs too. From local festivals and competitions to NSL game days, there’s always a chance to volunteer and be part of something special.

Session Facilitators

There is a huge number of participants getting involved in netball more informally through initiatives like Netball Now and Walking Netball. We also have many volunteers who started as participants and now want to help us grow the sport. You could facilitate sessions like these through a club, partnerships we have with organisations like the Women’s Institute or by contacting your local Netball Development Officer to set something up locally where there is demand.

Area Specific Experts

There are many volunteers who contribute specific skills and experience to netball, either on a one-off basis or through regular support. Opportunities can be found at various levels of the game, whether within our performance offers, such as training as a Talent Identifier, or more broadly, supporting the development of our ParaNetball programme as a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter. Please contact our volunteering team to register your interest or for more details.

Next Steps to Get Involved

  • Reach out to your regional England Netball office to explore local opportunities.

  • If you’re connected to an NSL club(s), local netball club or league, ask who their volunteer coordinator is and see if they need any help.

  • Interested in event volunteering (Love My Day)? Complete the expression of interest form and we’ll let you know about upcoming events.

Contact your local England Netball team or us nationally with a brief description of your motivations and what support you need, and we’ll help direct you to the best opportunities.
