PlayZones are floodlit multi sport spaces supported via funding from the Football Foundation. They combine football with at least one other sport and aim to tackle inequality in provision amongst underserved communities. Over the coming 3 – 4years, we are anticipating over 50 PlayZones will be built across the Country that can accommodate some form of social or recreational netball activity.

Communities that are considering whether a PlayZone is right for them should first understand that PlayZones aren’t formal netball courts. They are intended to provide an introductory experience for those new to netball activity as part of a multi-sport programme or recreational offer. They aren’t designed to cater for netball club training or competition. Unless they are installed on top of a netball court in need of refurbishment, it is likely to be smaller than a standard size netball court.

We encourage anyone considering installing a PlayZone that caters for netball activity to contact us as part of the consultation process on facility.development@englandnetball.co.uk
