Ellie Nicholls – East

Google Ad Manager – MPU – In Article

Ellie gives up her free time to help younger children develop their netball skills and work together as a team with friends. She is wanting to help them improve their ability that could help them in the future. She loves watching young children try and try again until they have completed a skill; watching their confidence grow and incorporate it in things that could help them and into match play.

Isabella Cottrell – East Midlands

Izzy is part of the junior coaching team at Dronfield Netball Club and supports a group of Young Leaders. Izzy was involved in a Special Educational Needs and Disability Programme at her school, running weekly sessions. She has also started to deliver coaching sessions to students at a Sheffield school. She received the Heather Crouch Young Coach of the Year UK Coaching Award in November.

Lucy Marchant – London & South East

Ashtead All Stars has grown in size very quickly and has always struggled to find enough umpires. Lucy has worked hard at learning to umpire for the past four years, gaining her C Award at just 15. She has attended the majority of junior league fixtures to practice and always helps at club and school events.

Rebekah Talbot – North East

Rebekah helps in the after school netball sessions and has signposted new starters to clubs. Rebekah is the lead umpire at club level and has worked with junior umpires. Over the past year she organised and compered the entire club awards night. She also kitted out the whole club with new dresses, ensuring it was delivered within the timescales.

Lucy Roberts – North West

Lucy has supported junior members at Phoenix Netball to attend schemes like the Liverpool Active Promise campaign. There are over 20 girls in the youth teams and a waiting list due to the club’s good reputation, which Lucy has been key in building. She helps train the younger teams in her own time and has coordinated the juniors to attend netball tournaments.

Holly Blackburn – South

Holly supports other young volunteers on a weekly basis with umpiring. She has achieved her Into Officiating and C Umpire Award. She supports the club through umpiring at league games, tours and tournaments. Holly has been a role model by showing there is more to focus on than just playing.

Isobel Farrell – South West

Issy has stepped into a Regional Management Board comprising of older adults and has ensured the voice of young girls in the region is heard. She has used her connections with Severn Stars to deliver a highly successful wellness event for 75 14-16-year-old school girls. Issy volunteers as the head of the fan zone for Severn Stars. She is part of the newly-formed marketing and communications group.

Niamh Carlin – West Midlands

After supporting coaches in U11 and U14 age groups, Niamh took responsibility for an U11 team in the local junior summer league, fully supported by the Lead Coach. This enabled the club to take on approximately eight new members. In October 2018 Niamh passed her Level 1 qualification. At 17, she is focused on giving back to the club, committing fully to coaching the U11s.

Tyler-Sue Chapman – Yorkshire & Humberside

Tyler-Sue has attended all committee meetings over the past two years and is developing the club’s digital presence through her role as Publicity Officer. Due to these improvements, numbers at the club are increasing across all ages. Tyler-Sue is a vocal supporter of all teams. She has managed to obtain donations of netballs, bibs and equipment for the club using her own initiative.
