Competitions
Within this section you will find details of all competitions run by England Netball. The Competition and Events department aims to promote and encourage the game of netball amongst all our members. We aim to do this through providing a range of events that not only support the competitive performance playing structure for netball but to also provide events which encourage juniors and mass participation amongst the sport.
The FIAT Netball Superleague
The FIAT Netball Superleague is the top netball league within the country and began in the 2005/2006 Netball season. Matches are shown weekly, mostly on Thursday evening's on Sky Sports, and the season culminates in in the Grand Final which is staged at a National Arena and provides a thrilling end to the season.
There are 8 Superleague franchises which span across England and Wales.
Premier League
The Premier League has been running since the 2006/2007 season when Divisions 1 and 2 were launched, and was expanded for the 2010/2011 season with the introduction of Division 3. Premier League Netball is the highest level of club netball in the country and the teams that make up the 3 divisions have come through a gruelling county, regional and national pathway to take one of the coveted 30 places.
The Champions of Premier League 2 and 3 each season automatically gains promotion into the next league up, whilst the team at the bottom of the league table in Division 1 and 2 is automatically relegated to the division below. Playoffs between Divisions 1 and 2, and 2 and 3 determine which league each team will play in for the next season, whilst the winning teams from each region meet the bottom three from Division 3 in a playoff weekend to decide who will take their place in the National League and who will return to their Regional leagues.
Please view the Premier League section for all the latest fixtures, results and league positions and for more information about your favourite team.
Netball Talent League (NTL)
The Netball Talent League is in association with England Netball's nine regions and the eight FSNL franchises participating in The FIAT Netball Superleague. The aim of the NTL is to create a competitive environment in which young netballers aged from 14-19 can experience high pressure games on a weekly basis throughout the year. England's most promising young netballers will have an opportunity to hone their skills and impress the national selectors en route to the senior game through participation in this elite youth competition.
The league, which runs alongside The FIAT Netball Superleague, features ten regionally based teams of young netballing stars. In addition to teams linked to existing FNSL franchises, there are two further sides, based in the South region and the West Midlands. Each team will play nine matches during the season. The first and last rounds will be played at a central venue and will be attended by talent spotters from England Netball.
Other competitions range from England International Netball Series', National Finals, National Leagues, Knock out Cup competitons and Participation based events, all of which the details can all be found in this section.
