BBC to show Vitality Roses series with Jamaica

The BBC has been confirmed as the UK broadcast partner for the Vitality Netball International Series between the Vitality Roses and the Jamaica Sunshine Girls.

The series, which takes place in Manchester and London later this month, will be shown free-to-air across BBC TV, BBC iPlayer and online.

Ranked third and fourth in the world respectively, the Vitality Roses and Jamaica Sunshine Girls go head-to-head in a three-match series starting on Wednesday 11 January at the AO Arena in Manchester before back-to-back games at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 January.

Last summer, the BBC showed all of England’s games at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as millions tuned in to watch the Roses try and defend their 2018 title. At the start of the year, the BBC also broadcast the Netball Quad Series live from London’s Copper Box Arena where the Vitality Roses finished as runners-up to the Australian Diamonds.

Fran Connolly, CEO of England Netball, said: “We are delighted to be working with the BBC again, elevating the visibility of our sport ahead of what will be an important year for us with the Netball World Cup taking place in the summer.

“At last summer’s Commonwealth Games, we saw a demonstration of the passion and excitement that our sport brings with thousands of fans turning up every day for the netball competition, creating an incredible atmosphere to compliment the world-class netball on the court.

“With attendances on the rise in our domestic Netball Super League, we hope that this series with the Sunshine Girls will help drive further momentum as we push to take netball to greater heights.”

Tickets for both dates in London have sold out whilst limited tickets are available for the opening game in Manchester. Secure your place and book now.

All three games will be shown on the BBC Sport website and iPlayer with two of the games also available on BBC TV.
