England Netball is seeking to appoint a new Chair of the Board to lead the success of the organisation.

The successful candidate will succeed Bridget Blow, the current Chair, after a period of unprecedented success for the sport and in pursuit of delivering the ambitious Adventure Strategy.

The new Chair will be committed and capable of bringing authentic, supportive leadership, enthusiasm and the necessary skills and connections to further the development of netball across England.

England Netball is the national governing body for England’s biggest adult female team sport, netball, with over 3.1 million children and adults taking to the court each year.

England Netball has just concluded its most triumphant decade in the history of the sport. The Vitality Roses, in an unprecedented feat, achieved a spot in the Netball World Cup final in 2023, marking England Netball’s first-ever appearance and securing a well-deserved silver medal. Their journey also includes a historic Gold medal triumph at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, a victory that reshaped the landscape of the sport both on and off the court.

This remarkable success has elevated England Netball into a strong force for positive change within UK sport and the broader community. We are a thriving and dynamic organisation, embarking on our ‘Adventure Strategy’ to fulfil our purpose: ‘To lead a movement, on and beyond the court. To uphold an unapologetic focus on women and girls, while opening the game for new audiences to belong, flourish, and soar’.

As Chair of England Netball, you will contribute to a sport that is truly pioneering; to encourage and enable bold strategic decision-making, commercial and social ambition to innovate and change the game.

Bridget Blow, England Netball Chair, said: “The sport has made great progress and achieved milestone successes over recent years, and I am confident the organisation is in a strong position to capitalise on the growth of women’s sport into the future and drive more commercial value in the  game.  As we pursue our exciting and ambitious new strategy, , there is a real opportunity to be pioneering, particularly through our industry leading NETBALLHer initiative, that aims to empower women and girls with education about their bodies and female health more broadly and enhance the health and wellbeing of grassroots netballers.

“There is a strong board and executive leadership team in place and a wealth of passionate and dedicated volunteers who continue to offer exceptional support to the sport.  The Netball Family is very special and has the ability to achieve wonderful things across the sport and society.”

Recent years have seen the undisputed rise of netball and of women’s sport more widely, but here at England Netball we feel we are only just getting started.  There is so much more to do, and the new Chair will help to make a significant impact to the future of the sport for many generations to come.
