England Netball is delighted to announce that Catapult Sports, leaders in sports performance analytics, has become the latest partner of the England Roses.

England Netball will be using 20 ‘T6’ Catapult devices, designed to measure and optimise performance through top level analytics.

With a hugely exciting 18 months on the horizon, including the Commonwealth Games and the 2019 Netball World Cup, the Roses will be looking to maximise performance with the latest technology which Catapult provides.

Karl Hogan, Commercial Director at Catapult, comments: “We are delighted to enter into this partnership with England Netball. On the back of their Fast5 Netball Series win, it’s a very exciting time to be part of the sport.

“Their commitment to training and appreciation of the technology is key and we wish them all the best for the Quad Series and the Commonwealth Games.”

Head Coach of the England Roses, Tracey Neville, says: “It is crucial that we have the best technology available to perform at the highest level.

“The competitive edge is always looking to be gained and the ability to analyse our performance data with the help of Catapult will allow the Roses to put out our best possible display on court and fight for medals on the world stage.”

England’s Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach, Jools Murray adds: “Our main performance question is ‘Do our training sessions reflect the quality and intensity needed to compete at the highest level’?

“Catapult is being used as one of the tools to provide objective data to answer the intensity part of the question. This data can help provide insight into the physical loading experienced by the athletes in competition and inform on the competitive conditions created for them here during training camp.”

The wearable devices which fit into the player’s sports vest are Catapult’s smallest yet, allowing more manoeuvrability and designed to be less restricting, but still collecting on average 1000 data points per second.

The intelligent software will be used in both training and matches, and as well as boosting performance, Catapult will be used to reduce risk of injury and validate return to play post-injury.
