Natalie Haythornthwaite re-signs with NSW Swifts

Vitality Rose Natalie Haythornthwaite has re-signed with NSW Swifts for the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season.

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist debuted for the club in 2018 and has just returned to action after missing the opening half of the season with a hamstring injury which she suffered in a pre-season game.

However, a standout performance in last weekend’s win over the Melbourne Vixens showed the England international is back to her best.

NSW Swifts General Manager Nikki Horton said the club was delighted to secure the services of Haythornthwaite, especially with the 2019 Finals Series looming.

“Natalie is a very popular player in our squad and really buys into the culture that our coaches have built,” she said.

“Natalie was really unlucky to get injured in pre-season, and anyone who saw her in action around then knew she was looking world-class.

“But she has worked really hard and managed to get back on court for the Vitality Netball World Cup and I think she demonstrated against the Vixens that she’s nearing the top of her game again.

“With the Finals Series only a few weeks away it is fantastic to have Nat locked in and the majority of our roster set in stone for 2020.”

The NSW Swifts currently lead the Super Netball standings with two rounds of regular season action to go.

Next up for the team is Round 13 clash with the Collingwood Magpies in Launceston on Saturday afternoon.
