New coaching and umpiring courses launching for EN members

Here’s what to expect:

Coaching

Level 1

Launch date: Tuesday 12 December

These courses are entirely virtual and are a great introduction to coaching the game as an Assistant Coach, working alongside a Lead Coach, with players from under seven to open age. Learners should be 16 years old on the first day of the course to be eligible to enrol. England Netball members also benefit from a very special rate of £155, saving £40 per course. This saving will be applied automatically at checkout.

 

Level 2

Launch date: Thursday 14 December

These courses are exclusive to England Netball members, aged 18 and above, who have been an Assistant Coach for a minimum of two years or have a Level 1 Coaching Qualification in Netball.

Officiating

Into Officiating Award

Launch date: Wednesday 13 December

These courses are exclusive to England Netball members, aged 13 and above. The Into Officiating Award is the mandatory starting point for all new umpires into the Officiating Pathway. Conducted virtually over two sessions, the course will help you understand the basic rules of the game, as well as cover some of the basics of positioning and movement, building your whistle confidence.

 

C Award

Launch date: Tuesday 12 December

This course is the next step on the Officiating Pathway and is exclusively available to England Netball members who hold the full Into Officiating Award. It’s perfect for those aspiring to umpire at a higher level within a county. The course builds on the knowledge learnt on the Into Officiating course and introduces the basics of contact/contest and advantage. The course consists of two 1.5-hour virtual sessions (3 hours in total) and a 30-minute online written assessment which is included in the course price.

 

B Award

Launch date: Thursday 14 December

The B Award course is designed for those umpires who wish to take the next step on the Officiating Pathway and officiate matches at a regional level. This blended course will build on current knowledge, introduce additional techniques and provide learners with examples and exercises in a practical setting to develop their performances on court.

A practical assessment is required for all officiating courses and can be arranged locally by contacting your relevant county officiating lead after you have completed the virtual sessions.
