One Month Until the Netball Quad Series

The countdown is on – there’s just one month to go until four of the world’s best teams come together to battle it out in London.

Subject to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Australian Diamonds, New Zealand Silver Ferns, South Africa’s SPAR Proteas and the Vitality Roses will travel to London’s Copper Box Arena for the Netball Quad Series, as part of the Vitality Netball International Series.

Netball fans will have the opportunity to see eight games across 15, 16, 18 and 19 January – you can buy tickets here.

The action gets underway on 15 January and will see the Vitality Roses take on South Africa’s SPAR Proteas followed by the New Zealand Silver Ferns facing the Australian Diamonds.

The Vitality Roses were crowned Vitality Roses Reunited Series champions earlier this month after winning two out of their three games against Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls.

Head Coach Jess Thirlby is looking forward to another opportunity for the Vitality Roses to take on the world’s best and grow and develop as a team.

She said: “To welcome the world’s best teams to London and reignite the Netball Quad Series is a great way to start the new year and provides us with much needed competition to test ourselves as we move ever closer to the hugely anticipated Commonwealth Games.

“The Vitality Roses are so proud to wear the red dress and represent the wider Netball Family and we hope to put out performances that they can be proud of too.

“The depth and breadth in quality across the team is the best I’ve known it in recent years, and we continue to strive to be better with every performance.”

South Africa’s SPAR Proteas, coached by Dorette Badenhorst, will be aiming to win their first Quad Series medal this year after narrowly missing out on bronze in 2019 after a two-goal defeat in added time against New Zealand.

The Silver Ferns against the Australian Diamonds is a hotly anticipated match and a rare opportunity for fans to see the two teams go head-to-head in England. The last time this happened was at the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 when New Zealand beat Australia to win their fifth title.

The second day at the Copper Box will see Australia face South Africa and England versus New Zealand.

After a one-day break, the teams will be straight back into action for the remaining fixtures of the group stage which will see the SPAR Proteas face the Silver Ferns followed by the Vitality Roses taking on the Diamonds.

On the final day of the series, fans at the event will see the third and fourth place teams battle it out for bronze followed by the two remaining squads going head-to-head to be crowned 2022 Netball Quad Series champions and lift the highly coveted trophy.
