England U17 ran out 122-16 winners over Switzerland in their third game of the Netball Europe U17 Championship to maintain their unbeaten record.
After a very successful opening day with victories over Scotland U17 (22-89) and Northern Ireland (96-19), the young Roses were in an upbeat and confident mood.
Eva Chater (goal keeper) and Libby Burgess (goal shooter) got their first starts of the competition as Victoria Burgess made changes to the side which started against Northern Ireland on Friday evening.
England showed that they meant business once again with the team quickly settling and getting into their stride.
The defence applied immense pressure, the mid-court transitioned well through court and the shooters got their eyes in early as they made a lightning start to establish a comprehensive 30-4 lead at the end of the opening quarter.
The young Roses showed no sign of letting up, notching up 30+ goals in both the second and third quarters while working hard across court to limit Switzerland to minimal opportunities.
Despite the on-court combinations switching during the course of the game, England didn’t allow the intensity or standard of their performance to drop as they recorded their highest scoring and largest win of the competition to date.
England will now rest, recover and refocus ahead of facing hosts Wales in the final game of the 2020 Netball Europe U17 Championship at 13:00 on Sunday 8th March.
Score updates at the end of each quarter will be available to view on the results tab of the Academy fixtures page.
