The Vitality Roses will play New Zealand in the semi-finals of the Vitality Netball World Cup on Saturday 20 July at 3pm, following their 58-47 win over South Africa today.

The Roses’ victory at the M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool, means that they finished top of Group G and will next face the Silver Ferns.

Tracey Neville’s 12-strong side were dominant in the first-half of today’s game against South Africa and maintained a similar level of performance throughout the match, the result of which would decide who would contest which semi-final.

This victory was the Roses’ sixth in succession after wins over Uganda, Scotland, Jamaica, Samoa and Trinidad and Tobago respectively.

Vitality Rose vice-captain Jade Clarke said: “I’m just really proud of the team. It was a long wait for the game today so there were a lot of nerves going into it. We really wanted this win to get first place in this group.”

In the other semi-final, South Africa will take on holders Australia on Saturday at 11:15am.
