New-look Virtual Netball Club sessions for August

Whilst our England Netball members can’t get on court, we’ve taken membership online with the “Virtual Netball Club” and now there are some new-look sessions launching especially for August.

There’s a fantastic timetable with sessions on every day to support in preparing you as the player to return to court, including netball skills, netball fitness and ball handling.

Whether you’re U11 or a Walking Netballer, there’s something for everyone with a hub of previous session videos to try again, interviews with some of your favourite players and match analysis with Vitality Roses Head Coach Jess Thirlby.

With us all spending a lot more time at home than we might like during lockdown, staying as physically active as possible has been more important than ever.

Training has taken many different forms with lots of innovation on show from the Netball Family and the Virtual Netball Club has helped to keep England Netball members active.

“I was bright red at the end and felt I had had a good session. Can’t wait for next week’s session,” commented one junior participant.

Many of the netball community have also taken to social media to share snippets from their home workouts.

Whether you’re training in your lounge, bedroom, garden or somewhere else, all of the practises and skills learnt during the Virtual Netball Club sessions can be applied once we’re back out on the netball court. The roadmap for the return of community netball can be viewed here.

With many netballers missing training with their teammates, the live Virtual Netball Club sessions have also proved popular in recreating a community feel.

One junior participant said: “I like doing Zoom sessions for training. It keeps me motivated and I miss training with other people so it’s nice to do it together.”

“The girls loved being a part of something national and official, it really gave them a boost”

“I was participating whilst in lockdown and having the hour set aside. There were good vibes and I was privileged to be part of it. It even worked for participants who couldn’t get out on a garden… win win!” added one adult participant.

England Netball members, make sure to check your inboxes each Monday for your weekly session schedule.
