Roses ready for Quad Series opener

Tomorrow morning the inaugural Netball Quad Series starts with a bang at the Vector Arena in Auckland!

From 4am on Saturday 27th August the Australia Diamonds take on the South Africa Proteas, followed by the one we’re all waiting for – our Roses face the New Zealand Silver Ferns.

The squad selected for the first ever Quad Series is:

Jo Harten, Ellie Cardwell, Kadeen Corbin, Helen Housby, Jade Clarke, Serena Guthrie, Hannah Joseph, Laura Malcolm, Beth Cobden, Natalie Panagarry, Ama Agbeze (Captain), Stacey Francis, Summer Artman, Geva Mentor, Jodie Gibson

The last time the Roses faced the Silver Ferns was in Sydney for the 2015 World Cup Semi-Final where New Zealand took the victory against England to win 50-39 and advance to the final.

The Roses went on to beat Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls 66-44 in the bronze medal match while the Silver Ferns narrowly missed out on gold by three goals (58-55) against the Diamonds.

It’s set to be a thrilling encounter between two of the best sides in the world – England will be looking to take one back against the Ferns to mark this exciting series-opening day.
