Due to illness, Jessica Shaw was unfortunately unable to travel with the Vitality Roses squad to Australia on Monday. Iona Christian has replaced Jessica and will tour with the rest of the Roses across Australia and New Zealand for a behind closed doors competition.

With Iona being selected to go on tour with the Roses, this means she will no longer be available for the Netball Europe Open.

Hannah Williams has subsequently been selected for the Netball Europe Open squad in Iona’s place. Hannah will also remain as captain for the Netball Europe U21s squad.

The large majority of the Netball Open squad consists of U21 players who will potentially feature at the 2021 Youth World Cup. Unlike previous years this offers a great opportunity for this profile of player to be stretched and gain valuable experience in a senior competition environment.
