Netball Performance League Returns This Weekend

The Netball Performance League (NPL) returns this weekend with the opening round of the season taking place at the David Ross Sports Village at the University of Nottingham. 

Ten teams from across the country will return to court and battle it out, all hoping to finish on top.

Manchester Thunder defends a shot from Severn Stars in the U19 NPL

 

U17 NPL League:

1st – Manchester Thunder

2nd – London Pulse

3rd – Leeds Rhinos

 

U19 NPL League:

1st – Manchester Thunder

2nd – Wasps

3rd – Saracens Mavericks

 

U21 NPL League:

1st – Manchester Thunder

2nd – London Pulse

3rd – Team Bath

 

Following the completion of the league, Leeds Rhinos claimed first place in the U17 tournament, Manchester Thunder were triumphant in the U19’s and London Pulse were the champions of the U21 category.

2023 Season

The teams competing in the 2023 season are as follows: 

Central Warriors (formerly known as Wasps Netball)

Leeds Rhinos

London Pulse

Loughborough Lightning

Manchester Thunder

Saracens Mavericks

Severn Stars

Surrey Storm

North East Phoenix

Team Bath

All teams will play the opening round of the competition at a central venue, the David Ross Sports Village at the University of Nottingham on Saturday 3 December. 

Following the opening fixtures, the league will then adopt a home-and-away model in which teams will alternate between hosting and travelling to their opponent’s venue.

The final round of the league takes place on Saturday 1 April 2023 and will conclude the season.

Upon completion of the regular league, all teams will return to the David Ross Sports Village from Thursday 27 until Sunday 30 July 2023 to compete in a play-off style tournament in which they will have another shot at victory followed by an awards presentation to celebrate both team and individual achievements.
