Jump High Land Strong Guidance
This programme aims to educate on the vital landing mechanics needed in our sport and improve those basic skills to try and help people reduce their injury risk in their lower limbs. It is designed for all ages in all skill sets whether it is your first netball season or for those who have been playing this sport for many years.
We would recommend you complete this as part of your warm up, ideally twice a week, and you do not need additional equipment.
Jump High Land Strong Levels
Everyone should start at level 1A where progression up through the levels once you are able to complete the tasks on the card with control as your skill set allows. The posters are designed to give you a short mobility hit and stretch and progress you through the tasks.
The tasks vary from either two footed or single footed as demonstrated by the footprints on the posters, and the direction of travel from left to right foot and vice versa or the direction of travel. Ensure you familiarise yourself with the scorecard before you start just so that you can get the idea of the types of movements to look for and things that we would consider as good movement and areas of improvement.
Complete the level that you are on twice in a week as a minimum and then ensure you use the score card before you progress on to the next level. We would recommend using a teammate or family member to give you a score, or film yourself and watch it back to analyse your own movement.
Practise makes perfect
If you give yourself a good score and you think you move well, move to the next level. If you feel like you still have some areas to improve on stay at the level you have been completing and keep practising to improve that technique. The more you practise the more confident you and your movement will become and we hope that everybody can jump high and land strong.
