Super Netball Round 10 in Vitality Roses’ sights

NSW Swifts welcome back star shooter Helen Housby for their Round 10 match against Queensland Firebirds.

The Vitality Rose missed the midweek action as a precaution after going off injured during Swifts’ 63-60 defeat to Melbourne Vixens in Round 8.

Swifts are currently second on the ladder and have won their last three Super Netball games against Firebirds.

Round 10 starts on Saturday with a top half of the ladder meeting between Melbourne Vixens (1st) and West Coast Fever (4th).

Stacey Francis’ Fever are currently six points clear of GIANTS Netball in fifth and will be out to strengthen their top four hold.

They’ve won their last three Super Netball games in 2020 but haven’t beaten Vixens since Round 13 in 2018.

Jo Harten’s GIANTS will be looking to quickly bounce back to winning ways when they face Sunshine Coast Lightning on Sunday.

The last two meetings between the sides have been incredibly tight contests (58-57 and 56-60) with Lightning edging out their opponents on both occasions.

Vitality Roses Chelsea Pitman, Layla Guscoth, Kate Shimmin and Geva Mentor will go head-to-head with Adelaide Thunderbirds and Collingwood Magpies as Round 10 comes to a close.

The Thunderbirds trio are looking for their first win since Round 5 while Magpies will be out to secure just their second win of the campaign.

Collingwood co-captain Mentor recently signed a fresh deal with Collingwood Magpies that will see her remain in the black and white until 2021.
