Vitality Roses set for Round 12 of Super Netball

The semi-finals are fast approaching in Super Netball with several of the Vitality Roses battling to finish in the top four with their respective clubs.

Reigning champions NSW Swifts, who are currently in second on the ladder, face an intriguing clash against fellow top-four challenger West Coast Fever to start Round 12.

Stacey Francis’ side currently lie in fourth, eight points clear of both GIANTS and Firebirds, and are in impressive form, coming into the game off the back of a 52-72 victory over Sunshine Coast Lightning.

Swifts will be determined to get back on track and secure their first win since Round 9 after defeats to Queensland Firebirds (64-77) and Melbourne Vixens (55-62).

Helen Housby suffered a concussion in their Round 11 loss and will miss the Round 12 game as a precaution.

It’s a case of bottom against top of the ladder in Saturday’s second game as Geva Mentor’s Collingwood Magpies come up against frontrunners Vixens.

Magpies have one win to their name so far this season while Vixens have already guaranteed themselves a spot in the finals, having lost just once to date this campaign.

Vixens have come out on top in the last two meetings between the clubs (63-52 and 62-49).

The final match of Round 12 sees Chelsea Pitman, Layla Guscoth and Kate Shimmin (Adelaide Thunderbirds) take on fellow Vitality Rose Jo Harten (GIANTS Netball).

GIANTS have won four of their last five clashes against Thunderbirds, but were beaten 51-59 earlier this season.
