Eight Vitality Roses are gearing up for another round of Super Netball action as clubs prepare for another midweek round.

Stacey Francis’ West Coast Fever get Round Five started on Tuesday when they face Melbourne Vixens at Nissan Arena.

Fever got their second win of the campaign when they edged out Geva Mentor’s Collingwood Magpies 62-63 at the weekend. Their opposition are currently sitting top of the table but their run of three consecutive victories was put to an end by Adelaide Thunderbirds in Round Four.

Next, Housby and Haythornthwaite’s NSW Swifts take on Queensland Firebirds hoping to leapfrog Vixens and Sunshine Coast Lightning at the top of the table.

Housby Haythornthwaite have been in fine form this season – making into the Team of the Round once each – and will be confident in contributing to another Swifts win against the side currently propping up the table.

In the only game of the round that sees several Vitality Roses come up against one another, Mentor’s Magpies come up against Layla Guscoth, Chelsea Pitman, Kate Shimmin of Thuderbirds.

Guscoth and Pitman started in Thunderbirds’ impressive 47-54 victory over top of the table Vixens on Saturday. They will be hoping to grab a win that could see them break into the top four.

Magpies, meanwhile, will want to return to winning ways after they followed a four-goal win over Firebirds with the aforementioned defeat to West Coast Fever.

Finally, Jo Harten’s GIANTS Netball take on Sunshine Coast Lightning in the last match of the round. GIANTS were involved in the only draw of the Super Netball season so far as they drew level with Firebirds 61-61. Lightning have won three of their first four outings in 2020.
