Vitality Roses set for Round 2 of Super Netball

A number of Vitality Roses are set to go head to head as Round 2 of the 2020 Super Netball season plays out over the weekend.

Helen Housby and Natalie Haythornthwaite (NSW Swifts) will face Stacey Francis (West Coast Fever) with both sides looking to maintain their winning starts to the campaign.

Swifts came back from a five-goal half-time deficit to start their title defence with a thrilling 63-61 win over local rivals GIANTS Netball in Round 1, while Fever opened with a 12-goal victory against Adelaide Thunderbirds.

GIANTS Netball’s Jo Harten, who nailed nine of her 13 Super Shots last time out, will go up against Chelsea Pitman and Kate Shimmin’s Adelaide Thunderbirds as both teams look to get their first win on the board.

Thunderbirds will again be without Layla Guscoth, who will instead compete in the Netball SA Premier League on Friday night as she continues her recovery from injury.

Meanwhile, Collingwood Magpies’ Geva Mentor will take on her former side Sunshine Coast Lightning, who she captained to back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.

Magpies were beaten by Vixens in a hard-fought Melbourne derby to start the season after a decisive final quarter.
